Senior ladies v Skerries Fingal

What a glorious day for golf we had today for our match against Skerries. Very different from our last match in cold wintery conditions against Howth. 

In Sutton our first team out had two shots and held the lead for much of the match, going 4 up at one stage but the Skerries Ladies gathered themselves and the match ended in a draw with pressure putts for both teams on the 18th. Our second pairing also had two shots and had a great game winning 3/2 having been ahead for the whole game. 

Sadly, neither Sutton team prevailed in Skerries against their seasoned opponents. Our first team to tee off was getting 3 shots, and while they won the first hole, they didn’t get ahead again and finished on the 14th hole. The second Sutton team getting one shot contended well but it was all over on the 15th hole.

We have one more match against St Anne’s on the 15th of June and I can only hope it is half as enjoyable as this one was.
